What do you find most rewarding about the work that you do?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many talented multi-disciplinary teams on risk-based remediation projects across the globe. I enjoy collaborating with experts from various disciplines to tackle complex environmental challenges. I take pride in developing reasonable and effective risk management strategies that are protective of both human health and the environment and advocating for those strategies on behalf of our clients.

What are you currently working on?

Our team recently conducted a global regulatory risk assessment on perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) for a client in the food and beverage industry. The focus of the work was to outline the current regulatory landscape concerning PFAS in water, food, food contact materials, and commerce across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Europe. This information will be utilized to bolster our client’s assessment of potential PFAS-related business risks and impacts stemming from these regulatory changes.

How can our clients benefit from this service/particular innovation?

We have developed tools across all of our service lines to help our clients navigate the evolving PFAS regulations. These tools include harnessing the power of our existing software programming tools, such as R, to efficiently identify and manage PFAS in our clients’ manufacturing processes or product catalogs; leveraging our expertise in environmental forensics to define PFAS signatures, and implementing our relative risk model, which is a useful data analysis and communication tool, for weight of evidence evaluations.

What is a little-known fact about you?

When I’m not working, you can find me cheering on the Florida State University football team. I am a HUGE college football fan and loyal and long-time supporter of my alma mater, Florida State University. We are currently planning a trip to Ireland in the Fall to watch FSU play Boston College. With two kids now in college, it has been great fun to join them at their football games and support their teams.
