Katherine Telfeyan, PhD, PG, is a hydrogeochemist and project manager with extensive experience in environmental research and consulting. She excels in analyzing complex geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data, using a variety of geospatial, geochemical, and statistical tools to deliver actionable insights and recommendations. Her experience includes developing in situ remediation technologies for contaminated aquifers, employing experimental methods to derive geochemical parameters and assess long-term safety of nuclear waste repositories, using tracers to understand regional hydrology, modeling geochemical effects from hydrological alterations, assessing the effectiveness of monitored natural attenuation programs, and contributing to coastal management plans.

What do you find most rewarding about the work that you do?
The most rewarding aspect of my work is seeing remediation strategies deliver positive environmental outcomes where our work leads to measurable reductions in contaminants and creates opportunities for the future use and restoration of land and groundwater resources.
What are you currently working on?
Currently, I am working on several geochemical modeling and assessment tasks at a site with multiple hydrologic modification projects aiming to control the spread of a contaminant through an aquifer. I am also providing litigation support related to contaminated soil and groundwater.
