On Tuesday, December 7, at 1 p.m. (EST), Amy Bauer, EHS Support senior compliance specialist, will be presenting an online course on environmental permitting through the DISCUS (Distilled Spirits Council of the United States) Academy.
There are multiple environmental programs that may be applicable to distillers. Bauer’s course will provide general awareness training of the most common potentially applicable environmental programs to distillery operations, including bottling and warehousing. In addition to covering a broad overview of the major environmental programs, triggers, or thresholds for applicability, permitting, or registration processes, and reporting requirements and deadlines, the course will also address environmental requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
With over 20 years of experience conducting and managing environmental site assessments, regulatory compliance audits and support, and environmental investigations, Bauer will help attendees gain general awareness of the various environmental programs and which ones may apply to your operations. Participants will also learn what triggers applicability to a particular environmental program and what to do to comply with the rules and regulations, and how to gain an understanding of your in-house environmental capabilities and when to contact outside expertise for technical assistance.
Taught by experts in the industry, DISCUS Academy offers fundamentals of the profession as well as advanced training in multiple domains.
