EHS Support is excited to announce that Greg Garvey, Principal Scientist, IBERA, has been appointed to serve on the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) as an expert in toxicology and environmental risk assessment.
Established in 2016, SACC consists of 20 peer-nominated committee members who provide advice and recommendations to the United States Environmental Protection Agency on scientific and technical matters related to the Toxic Substances Control Act.
Greg is a public health toxicologist with more than 25 years of experience evaluating the adverse human and ecological effects of chemical exposures. His experience includes human and ecological risk assessment, toxicology, vapor intrusion, anthropogenic and natural background evaluations, environmental site assessment, and field studies. He has conducted screening level and baseline risk assessments, both deterministic and probabilistic, in support of remedial investigations and feasibility studies throughout the United States and internationally. On behalf of clients, he reviews and provides context for regulatory developments associated with standard and emerging contaminants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and 1,4-dioxane.
