Internship Review – Kailey Brady

Kailey Brady began her career with EHS Support in February 2022 as an intern for the Sediment and Risk Assessment Line. She’s now a fulltime scientist at EHS Support, where she provides technical support to projects across multiple service lines including the Business Services Group and Remediation team. Recently, we asked Kailey about her three-month internship experience.

What are some of the things you worked on during your internship?

I assisted with the development of human health risk assessment for sites located in Alabama under the Alabama Risk-Based Corrective Action program. This involved supporting project teams by researching information for client facilities, completing various tables, and using federal EPA software to determine environmental contaminants.

What attracted you to this line of work?

I knew I wanted a career that helped people, but I also had a love for environmental science. I used to think there wasn’t a career that combined the two. But with risk assessment and environmental consulting, I learned that I could have a positive impact on both human health and environmental health.

What have you enjoyed most about your work so far?

I’ve loved getting to work alongside the Sediment and Risk Assessment Team. It is one thing to learn about risk assessment, but it’s another thing to put it into practice. The team’s knowledge and experience encourages me to learn more and grow in my career. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m excited to be a part of a team with such accomplished individuals.

What would you like to accomplish moving forward?

I’d like to work on different projects and be exposed to new things, that way I can become more versatile. I also want to become a coworker who’s known for delivering consistent and reliable work throughout various projects.
