Absolutely! When employees are well balanced and satisfied with their professional and personal life, they are motivated to be the best “them” and provide high value at work and at home.
When an employee is balanced they are in a state of satisfaction with their life, working toward goals that support their career, family, hobbies, and community. So what does this mean to our clients and the work we are providing to them? Excellent customer service, innovative technical solutions, and a focus on great relationships. Satisfied employees are driven, excited, and engaged in the work they are doing, which adds value to the services we provide to our clients.
In an article published in the Pittsburgh Business Times (Read Here), I discuss how leaders can help drive employee satisfaction and decrease the worry over balance. We put Work-Home Life Balance in the forefront of our business model to strive for happy and motivated team members who go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to our clients and commit to the long-term health of our company.
How do we help every employee focus on working towards a fulfilling and satisfied professional and home life? We host a number of social committees and groups including a monthly work-home life balance meeting with rotating topics focused on tips for work, home, family, and social aspects of life. We also provide a parenting group to support the challenges individuals face when balancing a career and a family; and operate a Wellness Program to support the physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness of all employees.
In addition to these voluntary groups and activities, we assist every employee in developing an individualized “Career Journey”. Part of developing this journey is a deep dive into the individual’s current status, career ambitions, and aspirations for their personal lives. We develop realistic goals and a path to success by balancing the personal and professional objectives so they complement each other. This approach ensures our employees are positioned for success and satisfaction for the immediate and long-term future.
As a company, one of our measures of success is the satisfaction and engagement of our employees. We provide tools and opportunities for individuals to focus on their own goals and unique situations and help align those goals with the team and company vision for the future. When we are all rowing in the same direction, we are able to provide the high level of support our clients depend on.
