Summer Intern Spotlight – Renuka Benjamin

EHS Support is pleased to announce that we’ve recently brought on Renuka Benjamin as a summer intern for our Remediation Service Line.

A resident of Lisle, Illinois, Renuka is currently in her third year at the University of Illinois – Champaign, where she is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Geology, with a minor in Architectural Design. At EHS Support, she will be supporting a large project located in Australia, as well as other Remediation projects via both desktop studies and fieldwork.

What interests you most about Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences?

What interests me most is that it’s applicable to so many aspects of the world. It’s really interesting how Earth’s geology has changed so much over time, to the point that we can utilize its resources today.

What do you hope to get out of your internship at EHS Support?

I hope to learn a lot about the industry and from the people I work with. I also hope to gain more hands-on experience so that I can develop new and better skills.

Do you have any hobbies/unique interests?

I like to run and I’m on a few different recreational sport teams. Also, I used to dance on an Indian dance team at UIUC!

What would you like to do for your career?

Anything in the geological field! I am interested in a lot of aspects of this field and would love to do anything that involves field work or anything I find meaningful and helpful to a community.
