A trusted technical provider for this particular global producer of wood products, chemicals, and compounds, EHS Support has provided a range of environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) services for their facilities throughout the United States.
In addition to providing health and safety training, integration, and support for new EH&S coordinators and department supervisors, we prepared 380 lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements at 11 of their newly acquired facilities.
As part of their commitment to continued EH&S performance, the client was looking to integrate newly appointed EH&S coordinators and educate them on LOTO procedures, which traditionally was one of their biggest risks. The in-depth and hands-on training focused on:
- Properly assessing the equipment
- Understanding servicing and maintenance activities
- Determining all energy sources
- Preparing and executing detailed equipment-specific LOTO procedures
- Conducting periodic inspections
- Understanding corresponding elements that may impact LOTO
To support each of the facilities efficiently and effectively, EHS Support provided authorized and effective LOTO training and support to over 600 of the client’s employees. Gap analyses were conducted to identify and document the specific noncompliance issues at each of their facilities, and an action plan was devised and implemented to assign responsibility and track corrective actions to closure.
