EH&S Program Development

EHS Support was retained to assist a manufacturer of energy storage systems with the development of a comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) program for operations in their new facility. The initial engagement began when the facility was in the Research and Development (R&D) phase. EHS Support continues to support the facility as they enter the manufacturing stage and increase their operational footprint and number of employees.

EHS Support initially visited the facility to gain an understanding of the R&D phase and future operations at the facility. EHS Support developed an EH&S gap analysis to identify applicable compliance triggers for the facility in the near term, as well as the manufacturing phase of the business. The EH&S gap analysis indicated the company would need to apply for air permit coverage. EHS Support subsequently worked with the facility and state regulatory agency to prepare and submit the air permit package. EHS Support also guided the facility’s understanding of hazardous waste management and future waste-related compliance triggers and assisted with identifying appropriate waste vendors for coordination of waste removal.

In addition, EHS Support worked with facility personnel and company leadership to develop a facility-specific Health and Safety program and delivered in-person training sessions to ensure employee understanding of company programs and procedures.
