Our client is an American private equity investment firm, owning various firms and brands in the food and beverage industry throughout the United States. With the targeted acquisition of two pizza and flatbread manufacturing facilities and a warehouse and distribution center, the company enlisted EHS Support to complete environmental due diligence to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs) for protection from potential environmental liability in connection with the subject properties. EHS Support was also asked to evaluate the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) compliance status with federal, state, and local EH&S regulations at each facility.
The environmental due diligence scope of work consisted of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) at each facility in accordance with ASTM International E1527-13 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process, in addition to the EH&S compliance evaluations. EHS Support prepared comprehensive Phase I reports and detailed EH&S compliance evaluation reports for each site. The environmental due diligence effort provided our client with the information needed to make informed business decisions related to EH&S compliance during the ultimately successful acquisition.
