EHS Support was retained by our client, a major supplier of cyanide to the mining industry, to perform a comprehensive combined Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) compliance audit. The audit, conducted on‑site, assessed the company’s management systems, procedures, and operational practices against the regulatory requirements of OSHA’s PSM standard (29 CFR 1910.119) and USEPA’s RMP rule (40 CFR Part 68).
Evaluation areas included process safety information, process hazard analysis, operating procedures, training, mechanical integrity, management of change, incident investigation, and emergency response coordination. The audit also reviewed RMP hazard assessment and prevention program elements, including off‑site consequence analysis and accident prevention measures. An official report—detailing findings, regulatory gaps, and recommendations for improvement—was submitted to the client, enabling our client to strengthen compliance, reduce process safety risks, and ensure the safe handling of a highly hazardous chemical.
