Environmental Impact Assessments & Studies

In modern industry, the challenges of finding economic resources and driving economic performance has resulted in larger, sometimes more complex, projects in remote regions and in many cases sensitive environments. Today one of the main things companies have to consider with any decision is how it will affect the environment and the community at large. That said, simply understanding a project’s potential environmental and social impacts is not enough. You also have to be able to frame a project that avoids, mitigates, and manages potential impacts, is practically constructed and operated, and is financially viable. And that’s where EHS Support can help.

Experience, Knowledge, & Know-How

Whether it is project planning, specialist studies, engineering design, stakeholder communication and management, or permitting, EHS Support’s knowledge of and experience with environmental impacts assessments ensures you’re in good hands. We have a long track record of delivering on some of the largest integrated oil-and-gas projects, from project inception and feasibility, through exploration, production, development and decommissioning. Focusing on CAPEX and OPEX optimization, we understand what it takes to deliver a successful project and ensure it’s financially viable to achieve positive environmental and social outcomes.

Our experts dive deep, giving ample time and consideration to your project’s impacts and what needs to be done to mitigate these impacts. We listen first and then act with a focus and a sense of urgency that can deliver even on the most complex of projects. The result: practical and implementable solutions for the avoidance, mitigation, and management of environmental and social impacts.

Our Project Experience

Integrated Power Generation & LNG Importation Project

Integrated Power Generation & LNG Importation Project

Worked with technology providers to develop a conceptual design for an integrated gas-delivery model. The project involved importation of LNG into Mozambique, road and rail transport of ISO containers of LNG, establishment of multiple logistics hubs for gasification and compression, conversion of a power station from coal to gas fired generation, and provision of LNG and gas to major industrial clients. Integrated designs, EIAs, economic models, and CAPEX and OPEX optimization assignments were completed to drive the project to final investment decision.

Risk Assessment & Management Plans for Beneficial Uses of Production Water

Risk Assessment & Management Plans for Beneficial Uses of Production Water

Managing produced water from oil-and-gas development projects is costly. We’ve done numerous environmental and engineering assessments to evaluate and implement the beneficial use of produced water: crop irrigation, stock watering, managed aquifer recharge, and enhancement of environmental flows in waterways. These complex and multi-faceted studies involve hydrology, hydrogeology, ecology, soil science, crop science, radiological sciences, toxicology, and human health and ecological risk assessment.

Assessment of Toxicology, Operational, and Environmental Risks Associated with Hydraulic Fracturing and Chemical Use

Assessment of Toxicology, Operational, and Environmental Risks Associated with Hydraulic Fracturing and Chemical Use

For years we've assessed the risks of hydraulically fracturing activities and new stimulation chemical systems in the environment, as well as the management and beneficial use of flow back/produced water. This includes risks associated with aquifer systems, groundwater/surface water interactions, and deep-well waste injection. Our assessments are critical in the approval of proposed activities, the establishment of industry guidance and operational protocols, and the development of new fluid systems.

Major Rail Project Environmental Resources

Major Rail Project Environmental Resources

EHS Support has supported the team undertaking EIAs for various sections of new and upgraded rail lines along the east coast of Australia (Inland Rail). Historically, we have been involved in a substantial number of resource development projects including project management of EIS for major coal bed methane and mining projects within Queensland, Australia. This has included a major CSG field, mine development, and oil shale resources.
